The time has finally come! The next chapter of Last Exile is finally ready! This chapter was a bit on the long side and had three spreads, so it took us a little longer than usual to finish up, but we hope you enjoy it!
Now for some sad news. As I predicted early on, this series ended up being a short one. Chapter 10 is, sadly, the final chapter. I’m not sure if it’s due to the series not gaining enough popularity here in Japan or if it was only supposed to be a short run from the beginning, but we are sad to see it go. We’ve had a lot of fun working on this series and we hope you guys have enjoyed it as much as we have. Thanks for sticking with us for this short 10-month run. With that said…

UPDATE: Since this series has officially ended, ObsidianTK and I have decided to begin work on a different series. We have already decided which one we are going to do so please don’t ask us to do some other random series. Also, both of us are super busy with life at the moment, so it might be a while before anything gets under way, but keep an eye out for it sometime in the future.

1. It’s a monthly series.
2. It began serialization in August 2011.
3. It is serialized in a magazine that started one year ago. (Yes, that means we have a lot of catch-up to do)

Thanks for the new and, alas, last chapter of Last Exile – Travelers from the Hourglass guys. Sad to see it end already after a short run of just 10 chapters. Oh well, every thing has an end, and I’m still thankful to this manga for filling in the blanks between the first and second season of Last Exile.
I hope your new project is something that I would like. Definitely looking forward to reading more of you guys releases. Here’s to hoping your lives won’t be too busy to keep on providing us fans more translated manga to read

The ending is beautiful, I understand they found the wheat base designed for Anatoray specially. Because Al is the key to it, and because it is somewhere near Anatoray. And this means they smoothly made that land of wheat we see in Fam, and don’t need any others’ place for living and don’t interfere to Ades or any others. But I guess that something went wrong, if the other place of wheat (island, Ruins of White) was in bad condition. But if it went as here, there must be place for everyone and the working bases like that… that explains the Guild uniform of late Al, but why Anatoray have no starfish or something in their army later…
Anyway, thank you for the amazing translation that I was following from the beginning. Just for understanding, is there written that it is really the last chapter? There is a phrase about “the amazing ending” in the chapter 9, but may be it is the first story of many others, or of many volumes? It doesn’t mean they will begin the next story now, because I guess it is a good place to end here for a while, but who knows.
(I hope my English is understandable, I guess there are mistakes… ^_^)
forgot to add that I don’t understand when Claus studied to combat with starfishes from the first season but I guess it doesn’t mean if Aranea could not fire… and hope not to spoiler to anybody by my reaction
At the bottom of the last page of the chapter, you will see that it says “Thank you for reading.” This phrase in the original Japanese is only ever used when something is over. It’s probably closer in meaning to, “We’d like to thank all of our dedicated readers for sticking with us until the end!”

First of all, thank you very much for doing this project, it was a really great work from you.
As for the manga itself, I’m not pleased with it’s ending. It’s way too simple, and not makes a real connection between the two seasons of LE. In addition, I really wanted to know what happened to Claus since seeing him in Fam the silver wing. That remained a secret too. So I’m a bit disappointed with this manga, only because of how it ends.

Thanks so much for your hard work on this series guys, I’ve enjoyed every chapter of it. It was great to see Claus and the gang once more. I loved the ending although it’s a little disappointing not to find out what happened to Claus for him to end up how he is in Silver Wing (those who have seen the series will know what I mean).

But iI was wandering: are these 10 chapters from 1 or 2 volumes ? Because you said it’s finished, and I see in the official website there is a second volume which came in July, the 10 ! Did you know it ? ^^
This manga was a monthly series, meaning chapters are longer than a weekly series. When monthly series get published as volumes, it’s normal to only have 4-5 chapters per volume.
